1. I have just finished reading, Cloaked, and it was a very unique and interesting book. One of the great parts of the book was the ending. The main character, Johnny, a shoe repair man in hopes of eventually making his own shoes, was sent on a mission by the princess to find her beloved brother who had been turned into a frog. He and his best friend Meg, had just escaped the evil witch, Sieglinde, and her son Siegfried, while chasing after the frog. Once they had the frog, they headed back to South Beach Florida to return him the princess. For the spell to be broken, the frog must be kissed by someone with love in their heart. Meg kisses the frog and he returns to his human form. The prince requests marriage with his savior and new true love. After the frog transforms, they all head back to South Beach, Florida. Later, after their arrival, Johnny gets a message from Meg saying that Sieglinde has her hostage and he must come rescue her. Sieglinde's request is to bring her the princess to get Meg back. Johnny remembers, that earlier in the book, Meg had given him a ring and, that if you put it on that person who gave it to you will appear. As he slides the ring on his finger, Meg appears in front of him questioning why she was needed at that moment. Meg was in no danger, Sieglinde tricked Johnny. After this fiasco, Johnny blurts out a long kept secret revealing his love for Meg. Meg claims that she was only using the prince to make Johnny jealous, and that she has actually been in love with him for years. Johnny must clear some things up with the princess, so he and Meg go to her, and the princess is ecstatic about seeing her brother again.  The happy new couple then heads back to Johnny's to find Johnny's dad waiting at home. His dad has been missing for years, and Johnny assumed he would never see him again. Apparently, a spell had been cast on his dad that transformed him into a fox. Johnny then realized that a fox that he talked to on his mission was in fact his own dad. The book ends with Johnny, Meg, and his family, who have totally changed after the journey, starting to get back into the swing of their old life. On top of all this good news, Johnny's shoe designs have taken off, and become very popular worldwide, thanks to the princess.

2. This book was definitely very unique just something that I have never read before. The plot had many twists and turns, and when I thought I could predict what was happening, the plot thickened. The characters each had their own personality, which I liked, and they were very different from one another. The themes play a key role in this book by showing the reader the true morals of the story. The author put in a lot of surprises throughout the story, which I enjoyed because it kept me guessing. For example, when Johnny meets this new girl at a hotel, they become friends, and he offers to let her use his magical cloak to travel home. The cloak was a gift given to him by the princess before his mission that can transport someone anywhere within seconds, but he was told to not let anyone besides him use it. Johnny was amazed by the girl's beauty and when he let her use the cloak the girl transformed into the evil witch, Sieglinde. That was a major surprise and turn of events. This is a new author for me, and I really liked the style of her writing and I will be on the lookout for any other books by this author. Overall, I really liked the book because of its plot, characters, themes and many details that the author incorporated into the book to give it its own special quality.

3. The theme of this book is hope. This theme occurs everywhere in the book. This theme appears in all of the characters. Each character has their own wish that they are hopeful for. The mother of the Johnny hopes for her husband for return. Johnny hopes to begin a famous shoe designer/maker. Meg hopes to find the perfect boy for her, Johnny. The princess hopes to be reunited with her brother. The book is about the story of each of these characters hopes and wishes coming true. They do not give up, they persevere. At the end of the book, the outcome is good for all of the characters. This theme occurs in the plot to because, as the book goes on, you start to realize that each character is becoming closer to achieving their goals and having their hopes come true. There are some low parts for all of the characters but they were able to regain their strength. Overall, the theme is very  recurrent throughout the book, and shows how hope takes many forms for different people in a variety of circumstances.

4. My favorite character is Meg. Meg is my favorite character because she is a loyal friend who is always there to provide a helping hand. She supports Johnny and his decisions and is a helpful friend. Throughout the book Meg helped Johnny, whenever he needed her. For example, when Johnny was captured by Sieglinde and Siegfried and was trapped, he just slipped on the ring given to him by Meg and she magically appeared in front of him. Meg gave that ring to him out of kindness before he went on his journey to find the prince. Realizing that if he may end up in a bind she would be there to help. This was a dangerous and risky decision but she was willing to pay the price if it meant saving Johnny, her best friend. Meg is also very trustworthy. She can keep your deep dark secrets. Overall, Meg is a great friend that anyone would be lucky to have.

5. My least favorite character is Sieglinde. Sieglinde is my least favorite character because she is evil, and will only find happiness when it comes to ruining someones joy. She is no friend and is out to get Johnny and Meg. At one point in the book she tricks Johnny with her witch craft and traps him in an underground chamber, left to die. Luckily, with Meg's help, he escapes. Toward the end, Sieglinde tricks Johnny again, into almost giving the princess to her. It seems to me that her goal is to destroy anything that were to get in the way of her and the princess, and throughout the book she would stop at nothing to achieve that goal. Overall, Sieglinde is a cruel person with a nasty personality, who is not be trusted. In the story, she did not do a single nice thing, and I had a prediction that maybe she would come around and change her outlook, but to my surprise, she stayed rotten, and will forever be, a witch.

6.  To be honest, the ending of the book was nothing I expected it to be. Since princesses, witches, and frogs were constant throughout the book, I was somewhat predicting a typical fairytale ending. What actually happened was that, after rescuing the prince, Johnny headed home only to find more drama. One thing I was expecting is for Meg and Johnny to become a couple.Throughout the book you could see there was slight romance between them from the start. The author constantly dropped hints about their secret love for one another. One specific scene is where Johnny and Meg were up in a tree and playing four truths and one lie. Johnny correctly guessed her lie, seeing that it was seemingly impossible, but quickly took note that one of her lies was that she was secretly in love with him. Johnny later found out that what was assumed to be her lie was actually true, meaning that the only other possible truth had to be that Meg was in love with Johnny.  I also predicted that Johnny would find the prince and beat Sieglinde, but what I was not expecting was for Sieglinde to strike back and try to trick Johnny into almost giving the princess to her. She was tricky, but I always had an assumption that Johnny would eventually be able to outsmart her. This book was a mixture of predictable usual ending scenarios, and unique odd endings, a combination that I think gave the book and nice flare of unpredictability.
